Module: 01 Studio Home
Grey text on grey or white backgrounds are used very often within the studio site. Examples include the class "bit" presenting text in #999999, course-metadata with text in #7f7f7f with 75% opacity (resulting in a lighter #9f9f9f being presented to users).
When placed on white or very light grey backgrounds these colors regularly have contrast ratios below 3.0:1 (the absolute color contrast ratio minimum) and without exception below 4.5:1, the minimum ratio for normal sized text.
Developers must investigate grey on grey, or grey on white color combinations and update colors so that contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 are met.
This may no longer be an issue as some of the contrast fixes performed on LMS impacted Studio as well. We may also want to table all contrast tickets and address them in a comprehensive color contrast Story that systematically fixes them by analyzing the various color combos used across Studio, rather than one-off bugs.
