LTI - no wyswig editor
Description
Mark,
Microsoft was using the LTI feature in Studio. An issue they ran into that it would be useful to capture in the docs is that the feature doesn't work when accessed from the WYSIWYG editor in studio. Previewing the page and then launching the LTI feature works, however

Ah. So studio must just send out the sample post without the current user info.
Makes sense.
Sorry to take your time, Ed.

The only difference…. Clicking Launch lab from Preview, not Studio.. duh. Which will be the student experience anyway. But we couldn’t get to preview with errors yesterday so not really sure… Seem to work now. I tried it again both ways. Error from Studio. Works from Preview.
Thanks!

Hey guys –
Good news. I tried it this time and it started loading the lab from preview mode, as expected. I did get an error earlier.

When I preview, I see the pop-up and I also see a proper user id and email address in the post. Can you check your logs for a negotiation with my principal, ed@edx.org
Best,
Ed.

Great. I see the post on production.
This should be enough for Ed to start with:
launch_presentation_return_url=<i_version=LTI-1p0&user_id=student&roles=Instructor&oauth_nonce=131688741817884158331426606219&oauth_timestamp=1426606219&lis_result_sourcedid=course-v1%253AMicrosoft%252BINF201x%252B2015_T2%3A-eaeccd6eff9440ae9c008454521e34b6%3Astudent&context_id=course-v1%3AMicrosoft%2BINF201x%2B2015_T2&oauth_consumer_key=LeX&resource_link_id=-eaeccd6eff9440ae9c008454521e34b6&oauth_signature_method=HMAC-SHA1&oauth_version=1.0&custom_content_title=70640_01&oauth_signature=GSscSQ%2BDHNHcfafAx6%2B0IVVNgMA%3D<i_message_type=basic-lti-launch-request&oauth_callback=about%3Ablank
Want to send him the page so he can take a look at the configuration?

Ok – check it out. Rebuilt and gives same error as yesterday. You can actually go in and make any modifications needed but I think it’s ready to send to Ed.
Thanks!

Great. Might take a little bit as you need to activate your account. I believe you should be receiving an auto-notification from edX.
