Incorrect scientific notation format in the edX learner's guide

Description

From documentation feedback:

There is an error at the notation of -44000 on this page which should NOT be written as 4.4^5 but 4.4*10^5

The page is: EdX Learner's Guide: completing_assignments/SFD_mathformatting.

That's: http://edx.readthedocs.io/projects/edx-guide-for-students/en/latest/completing_assignments/SFD_mathformatting.html#scientific-notation-and-metric-affixes

Verify that the feedback change is correct, and make the update in https://github.com/edx/edx-documentation/blob/master/en_us/shared/students/completing_assignments/SFD_mathformatting.rst.
