Discussions not sorting chronologically

Description

When 'Discussion Sorting Alphabetical' is set to 'false' (default), discussion components are not displaying chronologically by the order in which they appear in the course.

This has appeared in a few courses, most recently in UW's AA432x Composites course (http://screencast.com/t/FKAIPPwj). Because of the way the discussion components were labeled (Week 1, Week 2), setting to 'true' made them appear both alphabetical and chronological. However, that they do not sort chronologically by default seems like a bug.

Adding as a follower.

Steps to Reproduce

Go to test course with default Discussion Sorting Alphabetical set to false and view unchronological discussions (All Discussions)

For context, we've gotten far fewer questions on this issue since the help text for "Discussion Sorting Alphabetical" was updated to remove the expectation of chronological-through-course sorting.

Today it reads: (Enter true or false. If true, discussion categories and subcategories are sorted alphabetically. If false, they are sorted chronologically by creation date and time.)

Thank you, Now, I also think the same, because this shouldn't be open until the completion of forums rewrite. I am going to close this.

, good question. Christina said that this bug shouldn't be fixed until the forums rewrite. It honestly sounds to me like this should be closed as "no action needed"

This is blocked state, can we prioritize this issue accordingly before moving back to the backlog or it needs anything upon which it is blocked?
CC: This seems an old bug sitting in the Blocked state, how we deal with such issues?
