Assignments Risk Showing Partial Grades in Progress Pages
When an exam is live, and a learner is working on it, it's possible to check the progress page to see how well they are doing. Even if the assignment is set to 'hide feedback and problem-specific results', the progress bar height can not be controlled. Learners are able to infer how they are doing based on that bar height. They may even stop working on the exam once they think they've passed...
Course teams will sometimes disable the progress page entirely (or just the graph) in order to prevent learners from seeing this. Very MIT. To me, this sounds like something a grade pause might help with.

Thanks Kaitlin. Wanted to flag this also as an FYI for any design iterations your squad may make where this behavior may end up exposing grades to learners again in the way Ben described. Our squad will also be evaluating functionality that allows course staff to decide when to make an assignment’s grade visible to learners which will would fix this issue.
thanks for flagging, ! Confirmed that there will no longer be a graph representing individual assignment scores.
Asked Ben to connect to Kaitlin on Progress Page bar concern, though Kaitlin confirmed no visual graphs will be shown for individual components in Progress page redesign:
this ticket likely needs some more product-side solutioning before it’s actionable for the sprint team.
