Allow Rounds of Review in ORAs or in a Similar Activity
Howdy - This use case was prompted by another ticket () and focuses on a common request we hear from educators. In order to better support multi-step processes, like review drafts of written work or projects, educators would like to allow rounds of review.
Currently, the closest tool we have to allow learners to submit something to staff/peers for review is a single-loop ORA. By this I mean ORAs only allow a single loop today and should allow more loops. Today, a learner submits work and a peer/staff must commit a grade to it before the comments can be viewed by the learner. There is no option to kick it back with comments without a grade.
The workaround to this ends up being a series of ORAs that represent each round of review. It still requires a rubric and grading. The comments are completely outside the context of the submission because they are character-limited comments that are not in, say, the margins of the document. (See Canvas' speedgrader or Gradescope examples)
Additional considerations for Grading:
As we explore these kinds of learning activities, please keep in mind that the result could be "complete/incomplete" rather than a numerical score. It could very well be a situation where the rounds of review are counted as participation, rather than a grade. This opens up the possibility that we are using a binary value while tracking learning activities. The grading scheme on edX does not currently support this either.
