Gradebook Inaccurately Shows Total Grade Based out of 100 Points
Description
See gradebook example: https://www.loom.com/share/cd5173c886f940daab27b6e6e4b8a4c9
The edX grading policy is based on a total of "100%", which tallies up the weight of all assignment types to "100". Percentages look OK in gradebook today, but not in absolute view. Absolute view shows assignments and the total score based on point values, which is not how edX grading works. Instead of adding up all points in the course and displaying that number as the denominator, it just shows "0/100".
This is inaccurate and leads to confusion among educators using the grade book.
Product requirements
Engage with around re-labling total score column. Consider changing to describing it as total percentage or other acceptable language.
AC
Always display the course total as a percentage regardless of what display style the user has selected for scores. Aka, ‘percentage’ vs. ‘absolute’.
Steps to Reproduce
Current Behavior
When the Score View option is changed from Percentage to Absolute, the presentation of the course-level total grade changes from a percentage to an equivalent fraction out of 100, regardless of the total number of points earnable in the course's assignments.
Expected Behavior
When the Score View option is changed from Percentage to Absolute, the presentation of the course-level total grade does not change from a percentage to a fraction.
