Location: iOS Native app: Registration page
Description: The form fields displayed on the Register screen are all required. The optional fields are grouped under the "show optional fields". However just placing a section for optional fields does not indicate that the others are required. Assistive technology users may be confused when errors are displayed when required fields are missing.
Auditor Note: Developers must ensure that form field constraints are clearly indicated. A solution is to add the Required text as a placeholder text and ensure the the accessibilityLabel is set to include the on-screen label and the "Required" placeholder text.
Internal Note: We should indicate in some way that the required fields are required. This can be on the labels themselves, following the field descriptions below the fields, or programmatically.
We are adding an asterisk into the label for required fields and omitting asterisk for optional fields under the scope of LEARNER-2904. How this sounds to you?
Under the scope of this story, we will be adding text `required` at the end of accessibilityLabel for required fields and `optional` for optional fields, so it will make clear which field is required and which one is optional in assistive technology.
as long as you append the "required" and "optional" text to the accessible names, then this all sounds good to me
