Move course upsell hero to being a visible secondary area on the sidebar of the course home page instead of its current placement in the primary area.
This is a tentative story for grooming, still letting the test run another couple of days to hit ~10% minimum detectable effect on the active Optimizely test.
Implement variation B (white background) from existing upsell test.
Remove existing hero from the Course Home.
Update location / position label to "sidebar-message" (or something similar) from "hero" and "sidebar-hero" (which was used in the test)
Add GA annotation noting the change in promotion position name on edx.org app property

VERIFY the analytics events associated with opening the 'old' sock are still fired when the learner clicks 'Learn More' in the sidebar hero
FYI: current sock GA event "edx.bi.course.sock.toggle_opened" is fired when the learner clicks "Learn more" in the sidebar hero.
