Platform version empty in Sysadmin dashboard

Description

With Sysadmin dashboard enabled ('ENABLE_SYSADMIN_DASHBOARD': true), when accessing this dashboard, there is a description at the bottom that says:

Template that generates that always shows this message:
https://github.com/edx/edx-platform/blob/master/lms/templates/sysadmin_dashboard.html#L218-L220

This edx_platform_version variable comes from EDX_PLATFORM_VERSION_STRING variable, only availabe in dev:
https://github.com/edx/edx-platform/blob/master/lms/envs/dev.py#L158

In production environment this string is empty. There should be a solution to show always this string or only show it if the environment is for develop.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Enable sysadmin dashboard ('ENABLE_SYSADMIN_DASHBOARD': true in FEATURES of lms.env.json),

  • Login into the LMS with administrator user

  • Access sysadmin dashboard

  • Scroll to the bottom of the dashboard.
