Proposals for strengthening our relation with the organizations that currently use Open edX

After a carefull consideration of the results of the recently published Open edX global footprint report 2004 V1.1, here is a list of proposed strategies to close ties with Organizations that are currently leveraging the Open edX platform and strenthening their positioning and sense of belonging to the Open edX community. (in no particular order).

  1. National & Intergovernmental Collective

Building a Shared Community for Government-Led Initiatives
Create a dedicated community space tailored to national-level and intergovernmental initiatives. In this forum, government-run online learning platforms can discuss common interests and challenges (such as managing complex operations and coordinating version upgrades), share best practices, and offer mutual support. This collective will help streamline decision-making and foster greater collaboration among public-sector educational entities.

Some of the government initiatives already identified include: Israel, Mexico, India, Uruguay, France, Spain, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Thailand

What needs to be done:

  • create the online space

  • reach out to them individually and invite them to join

  • come up with continous engagement strategies.

  1. Corporate Collaboration Hub

Empowering Industry Leaders in Open edX Deployment
Develop a specialized community for corporate initiatives where industry leaders (e.g., NVIDIA, Tesla, IBM, Applied Materials, MercadoLibre, Amazon) can come together. This hub will serve as a venue for exchanging insights, strategies, and best practices tailored to corporate training environments. The aim is to support these organizations in optimizing their open edX implementations while addressing common corporate challenges in technology deployment and workforce development.

Some of the initiatives potentially include: NVIDIA, AMAZON, IBM, TESLA, APPLIEDMAT

What needs to be done:

  • create the online space

  • reach out to them individually and invite them to join

  • come up with continous engagement strategies.

  1. Hidden Gems Spotlight

Recognizing Impactful Open edX Initiatives
Identify and celebrate those initiatives that are driving significant impact and align closely with the Axim Collaborative mission. By featuring success stories on web and social media channels and awarding distinctive badges, these “hidden gems” receive public recognition. Their stories—and the badge they display on their websites linking back to the feature—serve both as inspiration for others and as tangible validation of their innovative contributions.

What needs to be done:

  • Indentify them and produce the story

  • reach out to them individually and invite them complete the information / authorize the story

  • publish and promote this content

  1. Open edX Innovation Challenge

Contest for Excellence in Online Learning
Launch an annual contest that invites open edX initiatives to submit their projects for evaluation in various categories (such as Innovation, Impact, and Rapid Growth). A committee of community experts will review the submissions and honor winners with awards during the Open edX Conference. This contest not only incentivizes excellence and creativity but also creates a dynamic platform for networking, learning, and public recognition across the community.

What needs to be done:

  • Get Buy-in from AximCollaborative

  • design the contest, categories, requirements, awards, etc. Can some of this happen before the Open edX conference?

  • Execute
