At the last PWG meeting, Raymond asked a great question of how to implement a wireframe from Jon using the Collapsible component.
Jon mentioned he copied the pattern from elsewhere in the platform, but wasn’t sure whether it was using a Paragon component or what one.
[question] How can we help designers better identify whether Paragon components (and which ones) are used in pre-existing patterns across the platform and/or communicate that to engineers?
How do I know which heading level to use in Figma?
It’s hidden under “Typography”; had to click in several levels.
Notably a modal title.
“Do we have a process for going back through active designs that might be made with out-of-date tools?”
Explicitly annotate mocks?
Ask: for engineers, additional training for how to interrogate a UI mock (in Figma, or otherwise)?
Another ask: for designers, capture as much intent as possible upfront?
Another challenge: As an engineer, do I need to do custom styling to build out a UI element? How do I know if it’s an existing pattern or not? How do we get a tighter feedback loop between PWG and when custom styles are needed?
Bringing some Card discrepancies to PWG for discussion this week (e.g., no built-in support for Card wrapped with a hyperlink, no native option for using the primary color background).
