Is it ok to use paragon classes of components while writing unit tests using React Testing Lib?

For example, the stepper component has classes like pgn__stepper-* can we use these classes as selectors? what are the best practices? Using id vs data-testid with components.

According to this tcket the modal should be fullscreen on mobile screen while it should display as modal layer on web view. I am wondering do we have any component in paragon using which we can achieve this requirement.
