Ginkgo Retrospective

Retrospective

What did we do well?

  • Assembling the Gingko Confluence page during development helped immensely.  It's always easier to note breaking/major changes as you're going along than it is to recall them all at release time.

  • Especially helpful were the "Things You'd like to Complete" and "Things to Cherry-Pick" lists of issues, for tracking progress to release.

What should we have done better?

  • An estimated release date would help OpenCraft's planning – even if that release date needs to move forward as the release is being prepared.

  • Though Ficus.4 was primarily a security patch, it also helped with the intermediate database migration step.  Whenever there are major (breaking) migrations, it would be great to tag an intermediate release like this.
