Feedback

  • This should be posted as a summary–discuss tomorrow.

  • Newsletter?

  • Weekly summary blog post?

  • These ADRs represent wildly different levels of comprehensibility and relevance.

    • How do we help people write better summaries for these things? How does this relate to the greater platform?

  • Feanil: Put out a survey for what people want in terms of communication modes?

  • Simon: Talks about reviving the edX engineering blog, as a way of attracting talent. How to publish to get other people in software eng. to be interested in what 2U/edX is doing.

    • Simon: But we already write these things (e.g. OEP PRs). We don’t really talk about them after they’re accepted. OEPs not being circulated enough. How to onboard Open edX engineers at 2U?

      • Nobody’s pushing this forward at the moment. Don’t know how to engage the rest of the community.

  • Ned: As we grow, there are more and more channels of communication, not sure how that’s avoidable.

    • Felipe: eduNEXT offered contests for blog posts, with prizes being tickets to the conference next year

    • Simon: Not clear how to motivate folks to write this, or how valuable these are seen to be.

Backstage!

  • Felipe: Backstage federation?

    • Feanil: You can monitor all openedx org catalog files and pull in from there, on top of your own. There are some permissions issues that need to be worked out (GitHub app on the org to get around rate limiting).
