What does this Beta Test Introduce to Studio?

The copy/paste feature focuses on both improving authoring efficiency and also enables content reuse. The process allows the user to copy content from one course and paste it into another course within the user’s institution. There will be four separate deployments of this feature, one for each level of the hierarchy (component, unit, subsection, and section). The component level will be the first deployment.

There has been a usability test conducted and the response has been very positive. The planned deployment is June 19th for the component level.

Instructions to use the Copy/Paste Feature

  1. Choose a component that you would like to copy. This may be a text block, a video block or a problem block. 

  2. In the “actions” hamburger in the upper right corner of the component block, click “copy”.

  3. A notification will appear in the bottom right-hand side of the screen indicating the copy is complete. It should only take a few seconds.

  4. Navigate to the unit where you’d like to paste the component. This may be in the same course or a different course.

  5. Click “paste component”.
