I. Successes and achievements 🏅
The release is out with less release blockers!
II. We should keep ✅
The good work reporting issues in the board!
III. What didn’t we do so well, and what could we have done to do better ❌
We don’t have exclusive tests for MFE(s)
We don’t have exclusive tests for backports to the test sheet
We don’t have a process in place to decide what’s a release blocker
Need to check more often if all failed test have their corresponding GH issue
IV. Action Items for Q release 📈
Resolve the release blocker conversation with an initial approach: https://github.com/openedx/wg-build-test-release/issues/292
Update test sheet with new test cases
Successes and achievements 🏅
We got the release out, including several new MFEs
II. We should keep ✅
I think we made the right decision to delay the release a few days, and I think we used that time very effectively.
III. What didn’t we do so well, and what could we have done to do better ❌
MFE settings and waffle flags are very confusing.
We should establish the meaning of “known issues” and have a process for soliciting them from folks doing testing.
IV. Action Items for Q release 📈
Identify MFEs and new repos earlier and review the processes for enabling them. Advocate for better documentation and easier configuration while there’s still time to make changes.
I’d like to share and possibly pass on my role as the Release Documentation Expert.
