  • Zeitlabs/ Raccoon Gang/Schema had meeting about learning academies, shared goals and plans for development and contributions

  • Discussed plugin vs separate startup model for solution

  • Zeitlabs working towards an ADR for discussion, coming soon!

  • Since conversation @Volodymyr Chekyrta has some concerns about maintenance in separate startup model

  • Worried about having to test separate models with all changes. Don’t want to have a codebase that needs to check tenancy for significant chunks of the code

  • Ed: if-else model is unsustainable, so we should target a more maintainable/ elegant solution. Should not have functionality diverge between single vs multi

  • Takeaway: technical discovery required. Will do in parallel w/ Zeitlabs ADR. Framework documented here

Using current offline capabilities with older versions of the platform

  • Conversations with ASU mobile pilot around mobile offline mode. ASU is using Sumac. Need to understand what exists in main vs on a branch for offline mode to support their deployment

  • Is there an easy way to back-port offline capabilities?

  • Volodymyr: not a lot of new features between Sumac/now. Needs more work for feature..

  • Ed: we support some offline functionality; this pilot would help drive future approach to offline

  • Takeaway: need to understand what capabilities exist in Sumac, what improvements and new offline capabilities have been added since. @Edward Zarecor to provide Sumac instance w/ necessary keys to test. @Volodymyr Chekyrta to help support dif btwn Sumac/current.

  • What would it look like to add feature branch’s offline capabilities: do arch. blockers make it unusable or is it at a state that is test-able

  • Related code:

  • Potential needs

    • PDF download for offline access

    • Links in text blocks to files and uploads are not resolved and downloaded

    • Textbook access offline, this is a bit of a bolt on and we don’t believe it is used very much. We’ll consider this out of scope for offline mode until further notice.

    • Mobile friendliness analysis and feedback

    • Offline mode for the PDF XBlock – need more details about which specific block to use.
