Main Agenda Items
1. Product–Market Alignment Working Group
Group had been inactive; Vineet confirmed no recent activity.
Focus remains on ensuring product development aligns with market needs.
Goals include: market-driven features in roadmap, improved alignment with demand, competitiveness.
Activities: stakeholder feedback sessions, joint workshops with product dev, prioritization support.
2. AI Extension Working Group
Update by @Marco Morales & @Santiago Suarez:
Framework development for AI integrations and SDK in progress.
Contributors: Edunext, Felipe, Max (Raccoon Gang).
Exploring directory of existing AI tools to consolidate patterns.
Meeting Timing Issue: @Stefania Trabucchi raised difficulty with Friday late sessions (Europe). @Santiago Suarez circulated a poll for alternative timings.
Integration & Partnerships (@Vineet Manuja):
Exploring workflow automation AI tools (e.g., n8n, Activepieces) for deeper integrations.
Proposed adding these as official partners in Open edX ecosystem.
@Marco Morales: once SDK v1 is ready, sharing with such partners will provide meaningful feedback.
@Santiago Suarez: confirmed framework will support this type of integration.
3. Global RFP Channel
Process finalized: all RFPs to be shared in the global Slack channel.
@Eden Huthmacher to be asked to officially close the working group and mark it concluded in the wiki.
4. Partnership Development
Previous session had poor attendance.
Turnitin partnership update:
Technical integration issues still under review.
Once resolved, Open edX aims to get Turnitin certification (currently held by Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).
Certification would validate compatibility across LMS ecosystems.
Call for new members to join the partnership group.
5. Member Success & Revenue Growth
Distinguished Contributor Program (@Vineet Manuja):
September: launch of nomination portal for reviews.
60–65 nominations received (target was 50).
Validation of submitted data ongoing.
Review panel created (6–7 evaluators incl. technical committee, community leaders, and future distinguished contributors).
Timeline:
2 weeks: panel review (2 evaluators per nominee, interviews if needed).
1 week: consolidate reports.
Final announcement by Oct 28, 2025.
6. Workforce Development & Training (Insights from Vineet)
Shared experiences from moderating TEDex panel on “AI in Workforce Training.”
Panelists: Indian govt representatives, Indian Army, EV manufacturer CEO, startup founder, investment banker, L&D leader.
Key insights:
Large/government/defense orgs → AI at introductory level only, not deep applications.
Multinationals/startups → stronger focus on AI applications and transformation in learning.
Clear divide: slow-moving orgs vs. innovative corporates.
@Vineet Manuja to prepare detailed notes for next session.
7. Product Working Group activities (@Marco Morales )
Recent topics:
Admin Console MVP
Roles & Permissions (RBAC)
Product Review Process improvements
Learning Materials Review Feature (Raccoon Gang)
