Following up on Maintainership

Node 24

• All MFEs are done!

Django 5.2

• A few small repos left but all major services have been upgraded.

• We’ll begin dropping 4.2 support.

  • Start making PRs but don’t merge till after Ulmo.

2U Deployment Changes

• 2U no longer an early deployer. Currently behind master and will stop at the named releases.

• Should we review various existing processes that support operators running on master?

  • We should check-in w/MIT, the other early deployer and then maybe have a special meeting to review processes that could be overhauled.

edx-platform Python 3.12

• This PR exists, we’ll likely try to land this in the next few months.
  
  

Django 5.2 Question

• Is there a pytz change related to Django?

  • There was a change related to timezones in Django 5.2 but that should all be done already.

  • Django dropped support for pytz but I’m not sure if we needed to do anything specific for that.

Inform: Studio Frontends in edx-platform

• PRs for actually deleting this code will land soon.

  • [DEPR]: All Legacy Studio Frontends · Issue #36275 · openedx/edx-platform is the top-level DEPR to track the work.

edx-platform Marketing URLs DEPR

• There are some fixes needed to fully prepare this for transition.

Auth cleanup

• There is an upcoming bugfix auth-backends repo that it would be nice to land before the ulmo cut.

cs_comments_service

• There are still calls that are still going to the old service in the 2U production environments according to their APM. @Robert Raposa will reach out to @Dave Ormsbee (Axim) with more details.
