1. Create a Codio course and assignment

1. Navigate to Courses tab in the header and click New course. Add details and click Create Course.

2. From within the left panel in your course, navigate to LTI/LMS.

3. Toggle ON Enable LTI and Enable LTI constant URLs.

4. Add Course LMS url. This is the base URL of your LMS instance.

5. Copy value for codio_course_target_id. We’ll use it later. Save changes.

6. Scroll down in left panel to Grading > Basic settings.

7. Toggle ON Release grades automatically. Save changes.

8. Create and publish an auto-graded assignment in your course (docs).

9. From the actions menu of the assignment, copy the LTI Integration URL.

2. Create org level LTI integration

1. From the menu on right of header, navigate to Organizations.

2. Select your organization. From the menu on the left, navigate to LTI Integrations.

3. Scroll down to section named LTI 1.3 Integration.

4. Copy the information from the section.

5. Create an LTI Consumer XBlock. Select LTI version as 1.3. Paste all the information you copied previously.

6. Save the XBlock and Publish.

6. Copy the information that XBlock displays after saving.

7. In Codio, scroll down to LTI 1.3 Configurations section. Click Add integration.

8. Paste all the information you just copied from the XBlock and click Save.

3. Launch

View the XBlock from within the LMS using a student account. Attempt the assessment, submit the answer and the subsection grade should update. Check Progress tab to confirm.
