  • With Feanil out, lack of hands contributing to openedx-platform

  • Example issue: check_dependencies fails on Python 3.12 due to missing pkg_resources · Issue #38003 · openedx/openedx-platform

  • Suggestion for coordination: jump into #wg-maintenance first

    • Slack is not great for summarizing

  • There’s also the forum

    • It’s where we ask people to report bugs

  • The issue should be the main source of truth

  • Coordination in #wg-maintenance, then shout out in #dev for general public

  • Pain point: timezone overlap has been challenging

  • Next step if necessary: call for more openedx-platform maintainers

@Robert Raposa See if any of orbi-bom would like to be more involved in the community and work towards being CCs. Kyle is happy to support if they are.
Somebody needs to create a DEPR for list_financial_report_downloads (see this issue)

 Decisions

  1. When debugging a broad openedx-platform issue (like the setuptools one), coordinate in #wg-maintenance first, and blast the public-facing updates out to #dev . Moving discussion to a GH issue is also good, but post that in #wg-maintenance so that everyone sees. If there are bug reports in the forums, OK to link the GH issue there and redirect discussion there.
