Notes Tool

Notes Tool

Feature Summary & Requirements

In general, learner note-taking tools allow learners to take notes throughout course content. These notes can be found in many places:

  • Associated directly with highlighted excerpts of content

  • Associated with courses as a whole

  • Associated with pages of content

  • Disassociated from content (a general site “notepad”)

Notes typically take the form of text, but may also be copies of images, diagrams, and graphs found within content for easy recall later.

Once notes are created, they are typically organised to enable future discovery, for example tagging and sorting notes into categories. Learners often share notes in order to help their peers and demonstrate value to the wider cohort and their instructors.
