Canvas instructs their users to use multiple choice questions to conduct polls, with the results only available to staff through the standard problem response analysis tools.
This means that polls and surveys in Canvas may only be used for staff data-gathering purposes. They are fine for this, but this means that polls and surveys cannot be used as social learning tools without staff posting a discussion thread containing the results of the poll.
Canvas supports various integrations with third-party polling and surveying tools.
Canvas has live polling as an option within Conferences, their live event learning tool, which is actually simply an integration with BigBlueButton rather than being a bespoke feature of the platform.
