Canvas - Polls & Surveys

• Canvas instructs their users to use multiple choice questions to conduct polls, with the results only available to staff through the standard problem response analysis tools.

• This means that polls and surveys in Canvas may only be used for staff data-gathering purposes. They are fine for this, but this means that polls and surveys cannot be used as social learning tools without staff posting a discussion thread containing the results of the poll.

• Canvas supports various integrations with third-party polling and surveying tools (via LTI and simple HTML embed, which isn’t really an integration)

• Canvas has live polling as an option within Conferences, their live event learning tool, which is actually simply an integration with BigBlueButton rather than being a bespoke feature of the platform.
