Skilljar - Polls & Surveys

  • Skilljar recommends using non-graded quiz questions as survey questions.

  • These results are not displayed to learners, and results are accessed entirely through analytics.

  • There are no other tools available in Skilljar for polling learners, and their entire platform is not geared towards social learning - their focus is on self-paced customer education.

  • A number of Skilljar’s question types are geared towards survey questions, such as the Linear Scale question.

Integrations

Skilljar exposes a large amount of learner data as custom variables which can be injected into links, rather than supporting specific integrations with polling and survey tools. This allows them to essentially pre-fill information into survey links, such as the name of the learner. They then provide staff with instructions on how to inject that data into their links.

This may be a personal data protection compliance issue that I’m not 100% comfortable with, so whether it’s worth replicating as an approach is questionable. I can see many uses for this kind of flexibility, but it’s worth checking that this is actually compliant with data protection regulations.
