1) Specifying Verticals in your URLs

You can specify which vertical will be displayed at a given url by including the order of the vertical at the end of the url. See:

vs.

2) Linking directly to where a unit is located in a course

If you know the location of a vertical, you can link to it directly:

courses.edx.org/<org>/<course>/<run>/jump_to/<location>

https://courses.edx.org/courses/edX/DemoX.1/2014/jump_to/i4x://edX/DemoX.1/html/2b8e90d1d5454bd59f63006dead96f10

The location can be found by clicking "staff debug info" and begins with an "i4x://"
