Reminder of milestones
Milestone 1: Repository Conformation
Deliverables:
All repositories with user-facing strings are fully internationalized;
All repositories with user-facing strings have their strings in the openedx-translations repository
Milestone 2: Translations Infrastructure Implementation & Integration
Deliverables:
Implementation of the Translations system as specified above:
All strings across all repositories are extracted and pushed to Transifex;
All translated strings for any language can be pulled from Transifex and added to an instance at build time;
Support for the needs of named releases;
Full adherence to modern testing standards.
Technical documentation pertaining to the specifics of the Translations infrastructure implementation, including:
Full documentation of the Translation system, in READMEs, as well as ADRs as required;
Full documentation of example usage of Atlas and other systems/scripts/steps, in relevant repository template and “cookie cutter” repositories;
Documentation for the Build-Test-Release working group around how to manage the named release translations;
Updating of any documentation that references the old way of doing translations, including on wikis and within the official Open edX documentation;
Updating OEP-58 as required to reflect any needed changes the project requires.
Initial Timeline
Milestone 1: delivery in 9 to 12 weeks after project start, no later than mid May 2023
Milestone 2: 3 to 4 weeks after delivery of Milestone 1, no later than mid July 2023.
