Partnership Updates
Credly Partnership:
@Angie Ruíz provided updates on the partnership with Credly, noting previous work with them and the lack of perceived interest from Credly in pursuing further collaboration.
There are clients requiring integration with Credly.
@Eden Huthmacher mentioned that Scott from Credly reached out to facilitate a connection with Pat Leonard to discuss integration enhancements, but there has been no response yet. A reminder will be sent.
Turnitin Partnership:
@Jaimin Pavashiya discussed ongoing discussions with Turnitin, highlighting integration challenges with the feedback studio and the need for further meetings to address these issues.
Turnitin has a large network and expressed the importance of leveraging this for collaboration.
Technical Challenges
The integration of LTI 1.3 is causing issues with various partners, including Turnitin and Big Blue Button.
There is a consensus that fixing the LTI 1.3 integration should be prioritized to facilitate smoother partnerships.
Anna Eldridge, a new team member, was mentioned as a resource for addressing these integration challenges.
Marketing and Visibility
@Angie Ruíz expressed frustration over Open edX's lack of visibility in industry reports, particularly in the LMS market.
The group discussed the need for a strategy to enhance Open edX's presence in these reports and to reach out to relevant organizations for collaboration.
@Eden Huthmacher mentioned a meeting with Phil Hill regarding this issue and will seek updates to share with the group.
Upcoming Events and Opportunities
@Eden Huthmacher will attend the Future of Skills Week in Washington, D.C., to explore workforce development opportunities and gather insights from organizations like IBM and Intela.
The IBM Skills Network was highlighted as a significant user of Open edX, with over 150 instances in use.
Future Strategies
The team discussed the importance of leveraging existing partnerships for client acquisition and enhancing the user experience on Open edX.
There was a suggestion to create an infographic showcasing the best tools and integrations available for Open edX to improve marketing efforts.
