5 minutes

[inform] New organization-wide project board for Paragon Working Group

@Adam Stankiewicz

https://github.com/orgs/openedx/projects/43/views/15

  • Separate views

    • Everything

    • Engineering

    • Design

    • BD-46 (Raccoon Gang)

    • By priority

    • By size

  • We’ll probably want to bring all the other design issues from the original board to the new one.

  • New board:

    • New views

      • “public roadmap” view potentially

        • [Hamzah] What about non-public things (e.g., 2U specific things)?

          • Valid concern. We’ll need to be sure not to include anything 2U-specific.

  • Need to update some links in slack and confluence

3 minutes

[inform] Collecting and monitoring Segment events for Paragon

@Adam Stankiewicz

We recently completed the set up of Segment events for Paragon such that they are queryable in 2U’s Snowflake data analysis tool.

Snowflake Demo (likely unavailable to Open edX to see)

Notes:

  • Can be useful for front end groups

  • Can be shared possibly to Open edX to circumvent access to 2U’s Snowflake instance

  • Can inform decisions on paragon roadmap

  • Also fires a segment event that tracks whenever the boilerplate component code is fired

3 minutes

[inform / request for feedback] Design Tokens ADR

@Adam Stankiewicz

Seeking feedback, questions, and concerns on the design tokens approach & implementation.

Notes:

  • Looking for more input, reach out to additional 2U channels to get more input.

  • Consider asking engineers to attend a meeting where this will be demoed and feedback will be requested

2 minutes

[inform] Design Tokens Spec by W3C

@Adam Stankiewicz

Notes:

  •

1 minute

[inform] Open edX Conference submission

@Gabriel Weinberg

Submitted a proposal for a presentation at Open edX Conference in March at MIT. It’s in evaluation by tCRIL.

5 minute

[Discuss] Design Review patterns

@Ben Warzeski (Deactivated)

Reminders for things to bring up in design reviews:
* What Paragon components/variants are being used?
* What design features are being used? (use variables over flat pixel/color values)
* Are we following or changing existing patterns?

 Action items

@Gabriel Weinberg update github board links in slack and confluence design documentation
