Update on OEP-26

• OEP is currently provisional

• It is largely relevant and aligned with our conversations around eventing

• Goal would be to fix some small inaccuracies and get the OEP to the accepted state.

• Notes:

  • Embargo tracking log events.

  • Asynchronous option with message durability will be a need to run this in a robust way in the future.

  • Do we have a solution for low overhead message bus for smaller deployments

    • Redis streams is a possibility, by very early days

Backlog of items to fully implement the xAPI video profile

• I’ve done a review of the xAPI video profile against our current implementation and captured the gaps that I noticed.

• The backlog is here.

• Who can help work to address these issues?

  • @Quitterie Lucas A first proposal of mapping and converter is under review in the FUN’s ralph tool but does not take into account the gaps listed in the backlog (https://github.com/openfun/ralph/pull/211 )

  • Test harness for xAPI events is a current initiative.

  • We aren’t sure if is a way of testing conformance of events to xAPI profiles.

Working session ADL profile

• Can we develop a backlog of work for the Open edX profile for xAPI learning related events?

  • Our profile working group.

  • What would the initial scope be?

    • Learning events, list to-be-defined

    • Lines between the LRS and other event sinks

    • ADL TLA is probably a place to start

      • Noisy LRS

      • Achievement events are different from learning traces
